01 / What evidence shows

What is actually documented?

METR and Redwood evaluated an earlier internal system. OpenAI reported patches; METR explicitly said it had not tested those later claims.

What remains uncertain?

The July–August exercise assessed historical controls, not the present production environment.

Next evidence required: A new independent test of the patched safeguards with a disclosed scope and methodology.
